The "Jovan Tomić" library in Nova Varoš is located in the Kajmakamije Building, or "White Dove" (in Serbian: Bela golubica) as the local residents call it, and is a valuable monument of folk architecture, which is under state protection and is one of the most beautiful architectural buildings in this part of Serbia.
As part of the REGULAR MAINTENANCE OF THE "KAJMAKAMIJA" BUILDING – BELA GOLUBICA project, the reconstruction of the "Jovan Tomić" Library began, financially supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information and the Municipality of Nova Varoš.
The works included the complete renovation of the facade (removal of damaged parts and construction of a new one), replacement of gutters and part of the carpentry (dismantling, procurement, and installation), as well as finishing painting and plastering works.
